GCSEs to include a Grade 4 in English and Mathematics
Merit grade in a vocational Level 2 subject, if taken
It would be advantageous if learners have studied similar unit content at Level 2
This two year Level 3 IT Introductory Diploma qualification is equivalent to one A Level
5 units to be completed with at least two externally examined units and three further units which are centre assessed and externally moderated
Suitable for preparing for employment in the IT sector, progression into IT-related apprenticeships and for those who want to gain a level 3 qualification to support progress to University (the course carries UCAS points).

Your skills could be developed in areas such as Virtual and Augmented Reality, Application Design, Data Analysis and Design or Computer Networks.
The Cambridge Technicals Information Technology units allow students to learn and be assessed in ways that are practical and relevant to the IT sector. The syllabus includes units which help students to develop a range of knowledge required by employers. This covers skills that could help develop organisational/customer systems, using IT as a tool to analyse data, or develop applications. This will help students to not only prepare for possible employment but higher education and/or apprenticeships.
You will find this course to be both rewarding and challenging as you gain new skills and develop further those that you already possess. The atmosphere in lessons seeks to reflect the ‘real world’ rather than a classroom and you will receive excellent support. Assessment is continuous and requires the ability to work to tight deadlines. From the very beginning of the course you are assessed at A Level standard so expectations are high.
