  • GCSEs to include at least a Grade 4 in English

  • Assessment is in the form of two examined units making up 70% of the final mark and a Non-examined (practical) assessment of 30%

  • Enrichment opportunities include guest speakers, educational conferences, visits to Europe and America, film making competitions and workshops

  • Many students go on to prestigious Film Production and Film Studies degrees.

Course Summary

In A Level Film you will be taught how to ‘read’ a film. Films have many layers of meaning and we will introduce you to the intricate process of analysing film texts. There is also an opportunity for you to develop and visualise your own film idea within the Film Studies course.
