Course Summary

On the course you’ll explore a number of methods for deconstructing written, spoken and multi-modal texts, always in relation to the context in which they were produced, for whom and for what purpose.

You’ll study theoretical approaches to evaluating communication and apply them to a range of genuine texts, each a product of real-world interaction. When producing the coursework folder in your second year you will write both creatively and analytically, exploring a language issue you find personally intriguing.
