A Level Graphic Communication provides students with an immersive experience into many art disciplines, centred around responding to a design brief.

Course Summary
Students will explore creative photography, drawing, illustration, typography, digital college and layering, logo creation and branding as part of their project development. Outcomes vary from poster design, to packaging, DVD art, book cover design, leaflets and much more.
Throughout the course students will gain experience with the full Adobe Design Suite using Photoshop primarily in Year 1. Introductions to InDesign and Illustrator will be given in the second year and are supported by excellent resources to aid with independent learning of these programmes. The course will also equip students with Wacom Tablet drawing skills, as well as traditional art practices such as printing, paper cutting and folding, and book binding.
It is an exciting and creative course designed to prepare students for further study and employment in the creative industries. It also gives excellent transferable skills such as, creative thinking, time management, budgeting, meeting a deadline, communication skills, IT skills and problem solving that will support all future career pathways. As such it sits well alongside STEM and other academic subjects.
